Darby Chapter Welcomes MOAA State President

Former Army Captain and MOAA Arkansas President, Council of Chapters, Richard Hartness, Sr. served as the special guest speaker at the MOAA- Darby Rangers Chapter Meeting on February 12.
With a presentation titled, “Never Stop Serving,” Hartness highlighted several Darby Chapter initiatives, including its Flag Education program, which spans school districts throughout the region. He noted that it is viewed as a “Best in Class” program and is well admired by Council leadership. He also commended the Darby Chapter on its membership recruitment and community engagement efforts including its social media and new website.
Hartness also discussed the latest nuclear powered submarine, the USS Arkansas. Five United States Navy vessels have been built or are under construction with the name USS Arkansas, honoring the state.
